Five Reasons to Sell on Fiverr: Tips from a Top Rated PRO Seller

Why and How to Sell on Fiverr?

We’ve been offering web design services on Fiverr for several years. We first joined the platform in 2012, but didn’t include it as a focus in our business strategy until about 2015.

In the past, we’ve written several posts on how to make money on Fiverr, or how to create a great profile on Fiverr that attracts attention.

This post focuses on 5 reasons we find Fiverr to be the perfect platform to grow your business on.

Your business can make money from Fiverr too!

#1 Inexpensive Cost Per Lead from Fiverr Sales

20% commission on successful sales

There’s no monetary cost associated with creating an account on Fiverr, or to list Gigs. There’s also no bidding system or cost to receive leads. Create your gig, pick your price, and wait for the leads to come in.

Fiverr only gets paid if you land the job and only after you get paid. Fiverr takes a 20% commission. This rate is fair when you take into account what you receive from Fiverr. They’ve handled the marketplace design and development, platform marketing, and payment system.

Why are Fiverr leads great?

  • These leads are warm leads.
  • They’ve seen your profile.
  • They’ve read your gig,
  • They know roughly what you charge.

They still contacted you.

On a busy week, we’ll receive 75 to 100 leads through Fiverr.

Client "Face Time"

#2 Reduced "Face Time" When Selling on Fiverr

Spend less of your time doing “face time” with clients

We understand the value of face time with our clients. However, we’ve also learned that not all jobs require a live discussion with our clients.

And on Fiverr, there’s less of an expectation of scheduling face-time (eg: Skype, Phone, etc). A couple of quick text based messages, is usually all it takes. Trust us, we’ve closed over 2,500 jobs on Fiverr.

Communicate what you’re offering (be specific), a price, and when it’ll be ready, most jobs will go smooth, end to end.

With less time spent scheduling meetings, you’ll be able to spend more time working on the jobs you take on.

Task Oriented Jobs

#3 Learn How to Sell Task Oriented Gigs on Fiverr

Make money on Fiverr doing jobs that are less common in traditional marketplaces.

I’ve been working with business owners for over 15 years. I’ve notice that Fiverr lends itself to jobs that rarely surface from other lead sources.

The key to making money on Fiverr with task oriented jobs is to turn your services into digital products. Split your skills into individual gigs. This will give your profile greater visibility in the marketplace.

These are a few Gigs we created that helped us make money with Fiverr. WordPress speed, WordPress security, WordPress migrations, website usability testing, and site audits.

#4 Selling on Fiverr Can Be Fast Pace

24/7 lead generation and semi-automated job queue.

On our company website, leads usually come in on week days, between the hours of 7am and 8pm eastern. On Fiverr, our profile gets leads throughout the day, every day.

Most mornings, our day starts with checking our Fiverr inbox and new sales. There are days we wake up and a few new jobs are already in our queue.

If the job is task oriented, we usually get through it in a single day. We reserve several hours per week for these jobs. By doing this, we can knock these jobs out fast.

Get Paid Quickly

#5 No Invoice Chasing when Selling on Fiverr

Finish working and get paid, No BS!

If you’ve been a freelancer for a bit, you’ve probably had at least one client who tried to stiff you on a payment.

They “forgot to check their email” or didn’t get your voicemail(s). Whatever the story is, it stinks – especially if they bail on the final payment.

We’ve been there before.

On Fiverr, your clients have to pay the entire project balance before you begin on the job. Fiverr holds the money in an escrow-like account during the job. When the job is complete, the funds get transferred to your account.

No client chasing. No invoice reminders. Just get paid.

We have experienced a chargeback once in our 5+ years on Fiverr. We put in a support ticket with Fiverr’s team and they handled it. They reviewed our conversations and ended up re-issuing the funds to our account.

Communicate with your clients. Ensure they are happy before, during, and after delivering your work.

We recommend keeping all conversations logged within Fiverr’s platform. If you take a phone call with your client, summarize the call in a message on Fiverr afterwards.
